Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
